You are invited to travel to Evia, the second largest Greek island, where you will be based in Chalkida (Chalkis) the 10th oldest continuously occupied city in Europe. Here you will have the opportunity to go back in time and experience an unspoilt part of Greece with its spectacular scenery, beautiful coastline, traditional villages and numerous beaches. There are medieval castles, museums and Byzantine churches to visit whilst enjoying the local cuisine and wines at your leisure.
DAY 1 : Arrival – Chalkis
Arriving in Athens. There is then a drive of just over one hour to the 4 star Hotel Lucy on the waterfront at Chalkida where you will stay.

Our walk will be a leisurely day trip along part of the remains of ancient fortifications, overlooking the recent quarry of the cement works, with the harbour of Avlida in the distance. It is so surprising that so close to the city, we will come across wild birds of prey and various vegetation such as thyme and wild fruit bushes. Our walk ends in the best way, tasting local wine at the Bio Winery of Tzivani with the superb artefacts museum, with personally collected items by Mr Tzivani himself from all over the world. B, PL, D.
